Hotel Raniban is nestled on Raniban Hill, located approximately 6,7 kilometers from the heart of Pokhara. Taxis are also easily available nearby.
You can enjoy breathtaking views of Himalayan panorama, the Majestic Fewa Lake, the World Peace Pagoda, and the Pokhara valley.
The vibe is pure retreat, appealing to those looknatuing for peace and nature. It feels a world away from the energy of Lakeside.
Design & Ambiance
The architecture is thoughtfully designed—pagoda-style roofs, intricate woodwork on windows. The first impression of the open-air lobby is one of rustic charm, and this holds up. The most notable feature is the seamless integration with the landscape and it feels less built and more beautifully placed within the forest.
Rooms
There are 4 kinds of rooms- Mountain View Cottage, Lake View Cottage, Sunrise View Premium Room, and Sunrise View Jacuzzi Room. They have their own speciality. The rooms were spacious and clean. I found the rooms to be super comfy and dressed well. A reliable kettle with complimentary tea and coffee, a small fridge, and a strong, free Wi-Fi connection were all present. The bathroom was airy and spacious.
Dining & Drinks
The included breakfast was a solid start to the day. It offered a choice between continental and Nepali options. The porridge was particularly good, and the fresh juice felt revitalizing. It hosts food where the majority of the produce is from its own organic herb and vegetable garden. Service was attentive but never rushed, encouraging you to linger.
Service
The staff attitude was the hotel’s greatest asset. They were consistently warm, genuinely friendly, and displayed a quiet efficiency. The friendly team aims to please, on hand to assist and answer questions. Check-in and check-out were swift and required minimal paperwork.
Facilities
A good swim can also serve as an indelible souvenir. There is an infinity swimming pool that offers a stunning view of the Himalayas and fewa lake. This is a perfect place to get your feet wet. Although there are areas that are appropriate for small parties, the atmosphere is obviously designed for leisure and private events rather than big business meetings. Rainwater collection, solar water heating, and a strong emphasis on protecting the natural forest it is located in are just a few of the hotel’s practices that demonstrate its dedication.
Value for Money
You are paying for the exclusive view and the profound peace. If your metric for value is proximity to nightlife and restaurants, this is not your hotel. If it is waking up to a Himalayan panorama in a serene place then the price is justified. We encountered no hidden fees.

This is an ideal retreat for couples, honeymooners, solo travelers seeking reflection, and anyone recovering from or preparing for a trek.
Standout Moments & Final Verdict
The standout moment was unquestionably the sunrise. Each morning, we would step onto our balcony to a silent, dramatic performance as the first rays of light hit the snow-capped peaks of Annapurna and Machhapuchhre.
