Priya Sigdel is President of HattiHatti Nepal, a non-formal and tailoring training to underprivileged women of Nepal. She also grabbed the title of ‘Miss Nepal Earth’ in 2018. She is also a youth change maker. During the cataclysm of the coronavirus pandemic, she worked for Waste Workers Emergency Relief.
In what you are busy these days?
In my organization HattiHatti Nepal, I do freelance projects and I am doing my Masters in Sustainable Development from Kathmandu University. So, my schedules are pretty tight.
Who would you take on a date on space and why?
So many names but I would love to take Chris Hemsworth (Thor) because he is the best who can give me a tour and I want to just listen to him talking. (Giggles)
What projects you are currently working on?
Same my organization working for marginalized women economic empowerment, Sustainable fashion, and project coordination for various agencies or enterprises.
Which celebrities do you believe are the most influential?
Not because she is my friend but Shrinkala Khatiwada she is the epitome of intelligence and positive energy, who gives me a reason to push my calibers more. Today, women need to look up to each other and that’s the best way to move forward. I do have to mention Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres, Sushmita Sen, and the list goes on.
On what do you spend the most: clothes, accessories, perfumes, or anything else?
Actually nothing, I don’t spend a lot on any of the above but I believe in saving and investing. I am not a big fan of shopping.
Are you a bathroom singer?
Who is not? Yes, I am a bathroom singer and I know I am best at it.
What do you do when not working?
Sketch and dance
Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not really, Love needs to be redefined and it evolves every time with the relationship we build. Infatuation might be possible but not love.
Where do you think you will be after 25 years?
In 25 years I will be around 50 so probably if environmental pollution has not impacted us that hard then alive and enjoy nature where there is sunset and river with a glass of wine. And hope to have a feeling where I can say to myself, “Every hustle, every work I did was worth the effort, so no regrets”.
