A 12-year-old Nepal girl was gang-raped, murdered and cremated in East Champaran district of Bihar. Her parents were kept hostage by the accused.
The incident happened on January 21 at Kundwa Chainpur Bazar. which is near to Nepal-India border. Her father Bahadur managed to escape and he along with his wife fled to Nepal on February 2. He along with other family members returned to Chainpur next day and then only the FIR was lodged on February 3.
According to reports, FIR was lodged against 11 person. Police officer Sanjiv Kumar Ranjan has been suspended on the charge of the helping the accused to suppress the crime.
Siyaram Shah and his son Vinay Shah, who are the prime accused of the heinous crime have been arrested. The incident came to light after the audio clip of the police officer directing to cremate the body went viral.
