Kathmandu – Now, its time to be more aware. The new variant of coronavirus, which was first found in United Kingdom a month ago has been seen in Nepal, the Ministry of Health and Population confirmed.
Three Nepali who had recently returned from the United Kingdom have tested positive for the new variant of the coronavirus. Out of six UK returnees, the swabs of three people were sent to the WHO’s collaborating center in Hongkong.
According to the Ministry, those who tested positive for the new variant of virus are a 28 years old female, and a 68 years and a 32 years old males. The swab samples were sent to Hongkong for whole-genome sequencing on January 11.
The new strain of the coronavirus has been spreading like wildfire across many countries.
